GTA 6: Everything Confirmed So Far (Updated Oct 2026)

GTA 6 launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading from November 12 and two editions at $79.99 and $99.99 in the US. Below is every fact Rockstar or its partners have confirmed, with where it comes from, followed by the list of things that are still unknown.

Release, platforms and price

• Release date: November 19, 2026 (Rockstar).
• Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Not on PS4 or Xbox One. No PC version announced.
• PS5 Pro: the PlayStation Store marks the game "PS5 Pro Enhanced". Rockstar has not detailed what that means.
• Editions: Standard ($79.99) and Ultimate ($99.99, digital only). The Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be bought later.
• Pre-order bonus: the Vintage Vice City Pack for purchases before November 20, plus a free month of GTA+ for digital pre-orders.
• Preload: from local midnight on November 12 (Rockstar Support).
• Boxed copies: a download code, no disc, on sale from November 12.
• File size and launch unlock time: not announced.

Story and characters

Rockstar's own summary: Jason and Lucia's easy score goes wrong, and they end up in a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida.

• Jason Duval grew up around grifters, served in the Army, then ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners (Rockstar bio).
• Lucia Caminos learned to fight from her father, landed in the Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family, and wants the good life her mother dreamed of in Liberty City (Rockstar bio).
• Single-player at launch. Rockstar calls GTA 6 a single-player experience. No new GTA Online has been announced.
• Story length: Rockstar North's Rob Nelson said his February playthrough took about 80 hours, including some optional story goals.
• Cast: Rockstar has not named its actors. Stephen Root confirmed he is in the game (AP); IGN links him to Brian Heder, a veteran drug runner in the Keys; Rockstar has not named his role. Rockstar has not confirmed who plays Jason or Lucia.

The map

• Leonida is about twice the size of GTA 5's map, per Rockstar's Aaron Garbut in Game Informer.
• Six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
• More than 170 animal species, plus hurricanes, tropical storms and weather that changes from one area to the next.

Gameplay shown so far

From the August 27 Extended Look, a roughly 26-minute video captured on PS5, and the previews that followed:

• Six-star wanted level returns, with new icons showing what police know about you, such as your vehicle or outfit. Masks, changing clothes and switching cars all help.
• Car theft has tiers. Older cars need a slim jim, while pricier cars need tools such as a key cloner.
• Slow-motion aiming and eating to restore health, both reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption 2.
• Robberies of small stores for quick cash, with quiet or loud approaches.
• Activities include base jumping, billiards, gyms, kayaking, mini golf, scuba diving, street and off-road racing, airboats, jet skis and zoos.
• Performance: the Extended Look ran at a steady 30fps on PS5 by Digital Foundry's count. Rob Nelson was reported as saying the console versions run at 30fps.
• No microtransactions in the game, Rockstar told Kinda Funny.

Music

• Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album arrives November 19 with 34 original tracks, made with Atlantic Records. Six singles are out now, from Yung Lean (with Future and Metro Boomin), Travis Scott, CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso with PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards.
• Songs heard playing inside the game world in the Extended Look (car radio, bar speakers), per IGN, include Depeche Mode's "People Are People" and Prefab Sprout's "Cars and Girls". Many more licensed songs appear in the trailers.
• Radio stations: not confirmed by Rockstar yet. It has promised more on the radio and the dynamic score.

Ratings

• ESRB: M for Mature 17+, with In-Game Purchases.
• PEGI: 18. PEGI published a detailed page on October 2, then removed it.

Launch-season extras

• DualSense controllers: black and white GTA VI limited editions, $84.99, from November 19 (PlayStation Blog).
• Collector's box: The Goodtime State, Vice City Collection, arriving November 19. The game is sold separately.
• Miami Heat: "A Night in Vice City" on November 18 against the Milwaukee Bucks, with a themed court and uniforms (ESPN).
