GTA 6 Easter Eggs
Image: Rockstar Games
Rockstar's trailers are packed with jokes and nods to older GTA games. We went through Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 on Rockstar's own uploads and list each detail with the trailer and the timestamp, so you can pause on it yourself. Where a site spotted something first, we credit it.
Secrets you find in the game itself join this page from launch day, November 19, 2026, each with a screenshot or clip and the name of whoever found it.

Lucia starts out in the Leonida Penitentiary

Trailer 1 opens on Lucia in an orange prison jumpsuit, looking out over a yard ringed with razor wire, then sitting across a desk from a woman with her file. Rockstar's site says fighting for her family put her there.

Jason's "Let Freedom Reign!" shirt on release day
Shown in trailers
In Trailer 2, Jason waits at the prison gate in a T-shirt that reads "Let Freedom Reign!", then Lucia walks out past the chain-link fence. A watchtower stands over the yard a few shots earlier.

Huge VICE letters on a steel frame stand against a red sunset in Trailer 1. Rockstar's first Vice City screenshot shows the same landmark lit up at dusk with a jet passing low overhead.

Leonida's viral phone clips
Shown in trailers
Midway through Trailer 1, the picture turns into vertical phone videos with usernames and captions, like a social feed. One shows a man pulling an alligator out of a backyard pool, captioned "Stay Alert VC! Remember to check for uninvited guests before the pool party".
In the trailers
Weazel News headlines
Shown in trailers
Weazel News, the series' TV news channel, runs two live helicopter reports in Trailer 1: "NO (OVER) TURNING ZONE!" over a wrecked intersection, and "DIRT-BIKE DIRT-BAGS" over bikers swarming a junction.
In the trailers
The "IT CURES EMOTIONS!" billboard
Shown in trailers
Driving shots in Trailer 1 pass a roadside billboard promising "IT CURES EMOTIONS!", the kind of fake pharma ad GTA has always used for satire.
In the trailers
The convenience store robbery
Shown in trailers
Trailer 1 ends its action on Jason and Lucia robbing a convenience store with bandanas over their faces, then stepping back out with pistols raised.
In the trailers
The dates on the end cards
Shown in trailers
Trailer 1 ended on "Coming 2025" and Trailer 2 on "May 26, 2026". Rockstar later moved the game again, to November 19, 2026, so neither card holds any more.
In the trailers
Highway signs to VCI Airport and Peacock Bay
Shown in trailers
Green highway signs in Trailer 2 point to "VCI Airport" and Ambrosia, Downtown, and "SW 9th Ave, Southside, Peacock Bay", with a jet coming in low overhead.

Phil's Ammu-Nation on TV
Shown in trailers
A TV in Trailer 2 plays an ad for Phil's Ammu-Nation, the series' gun store chain, fronted by a mulleted man at a counter of guns. Our take: Vice City fans will think of Phil Cassidy, the arms dealer from GTA Vice City.

A train line above the streets
Shown in trailers
A raised rail line runs above a mural-covered street in Trailer 2 as police cars pass below. Dexerto reads it as Vice City's metro.

Questions people ask
What easter eggs are in the GTA 6 trailers?
Our list, checked on Rockstar's own uploads, runs from the giant VICE letters and two Weazel News headlines in Trailer 1 to Phil's Ammu-Nation on TV and Jason's "Let Freedom Reign!" shirt in Trailer 2. Each one has its trailer and timestamp.
Is Phil Cassidy in GTA 6?
Rockstar has not said. Trailer 2 shows a TV ad for Phil's Ammu-Nation, fronted by a man with a mullet, which many fans read as a nod to Phil Cassidy from GTA Vice City.
Are there easter eggs in the GTA 6 Extended Look?
Yes. IGN lists dozens, such as a Love Fist shirt and the GTA Vice City cover art in a picture frame. We add each one here once we can check it against the footage with a timestamp.
How do you check a trailer detail?
We find the exact moment in Rockstar's own upload and note the timestamp, so anyone can pause on it. A detail we can't find there doesn't go on the list, and nothing from leaks does.
