Theory 27 claimed GTA 6's second trailer would come out on December 27, 2024, because fans kept finding the number 27 in Rockstar posts and Trailer 1. Nothing came out that day, and Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025.
PC Gamer traces the theory to the X account GTA6Plus, which broke down the developer's photo on December 20, 2024: cat hair on a Rockstar jumper seemed to form a "VI", and a note beside it carried the 27 Auto Sales number. From there, r/GTA6 found 27s everywhere. Reddit user insightangel added that Bonnie and Clyde's identification order number was 1227.
PC Gamer's own verdict at the time was that it was "all just confirmation bias", since you could find support for almost any date in that much material. TheGamer reported on January 1, 2025 that the developer, Reckope, joked that their top tip for 2025 was not to leave notepads lying around when photographing merch.
