Likely, yes. GTA Online's July 2026 Kortz Center Heist update added a character in an 'Art Oregano Vice City' T-shirt wearing what looks like GTA 6 character Cal Hampton's necklace, plus a painting called 'Trust'. Rockstar has not said these are GTA 6 teases.
The Kortz Center Heist, released July 14, 2026, adds a museum full of paintings to steal and a counterfeiting studio, so new art was always going to get picked apart. The Vice City shirt is the clearest link: it names GTA 6's city outright. Reddit user gtawiki spotted it and the Art Basel connection, and Kotaku covered it on July 15.
Some fans also claim a painting called La Dernière Débauche hides the outline of GTA 6's map. That comparison relies on fan-made maps, so we don't include it here.
Our take: a Vice City shirt four months before launch is hard to call a coincidence. "Likely" reflects that the items exist in the game; whether they were meant as GTA 6 teasers is still Rockstar's call.
Evidence for
- New art counterfeiter Yong-Rae wears an 'Art Oregano Vice City' T-shirt, which Kotaku reads as Rockstar's version of Miami's Art Basel, and seems to wear the same necklace as GTA 6's Cal Hampton. (GTA Online's New Big Update Is Filled With GTA 6 Clues And Easter Eggs (Kotaku), Jul 15, 2026)
- A new painting is titled 'Trust', the word Jason and Lucia say to each other at the end of GTA 6's first trailer. (GTA Online's New Big Update Is Filled With GTA 6 Clues And Easter Eggs (Kotaku), Jul 15, 2026)
Evidence against
- Kotaku notes the necklace could simply be Rockstar reusing assets, and Rockstar has made no comment on any of the references. (GTA Online's New Big Update Is Filled With GTA 6 Clues And Easter Eggs (Kotaku), Jul 15, 2026)
- Most of the update's paintings reference older games instead, such as GTA 4's ending, North Yankton from GTA 5, and a crowd of GTA and Red Dead characters. (All easter eggs in GTA Online Kortz Center Heist paintings (Sportskeeda), Jul 10, 2026)
